Putrajaya Half Marathon, September 11

Finally after months of doing things for others sincerely, I'm doing something for myself - masuk a 10km run at Putrajaya. Nearly missed the run due to insufficient training and lack of motivation plus my utterlessly multi tasking endless projects.
However, thanks to Emma Rama for urging me to join her for the run. Had not been her to kuat2 kan..i wouldn't be running yesterday. Before I start merapu..CONGRATS to EMMA for finishing her first ever 10km race;-) Pewitttt!! Proud of u gurl!

So, how was the race?

Great and i managed to finish the race within the qualifying time. About 1 hour 20 mins plus. Personally..it was not my best record..tapi oklah coz i did not train as hard as my first 2 runs. Putrajaya is a beautiful place for u to run while enjoying the scenery. But the weather was hot. The organiser should have started the run earlier..ada ke 21km start kul 7 AM. Panas ya amat.

The route was quite challenging but not as challenging as the 5km Hong Leong run..that one was challenging..really..naik and turun bukit.

Anyway, the race started from the bridge at Precint 1, near the masjid, then it was a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggg flattttttt and straight road passing all the government offices..ministry of justice and all..lalu kat a historical landmark when my 'fren' was out of the game..hehehe. After the second bridge, the real challenge datang..had to run around the convention centre..one big hilly round..but surprisingly I did not pancit...

This time round, i did not properly study the route..ingatkan sampai convention centre jer..rupa2 kena patah balik- the finishing line was at the starting line..heheheh. So i was a bit demotivated when I saw some runners going to the opposite site while running near the second bridge. It was freaking hot and i'm already dehydrated...not forgetting my sore throat becoming more irritating. Then i kept pushing myself to focus and continue running as I was in the middle of no where, turning back was as good as finishing the line...so apa lagi..teringat iklan merdeka petronas..like hafsham quoted..ingat, "kita kena melangkah ke depan..bukan ke belakang"..very wise phrase..and I continued running non stop focusing only at the Prime Minister department..and kept telling myself not to stop running although some of the running already walking at that time. Alhamdullillah..my lututs and kakis did not give up on me..I managed to focus myself and finished the run within the qualifiying time. As a bonus...i got a medal..finisher's medal..and another bonus..to witness Emma Rama crossing the finishing line..running proudly to finish her first ever 10km run;-)

So, there u are..my little success that I've accomplished during the weekend. To some, it mayt not be a big deal - entering a 10km run and won a finisher's medal..but to me..it is something that I'm proud of..little successes that I've accomplished for myself.

Running teaches me to be more a more discipline, patient and a more determined person. It also teaches me and reminds me to be a stronger (tabah) person and never to give up things easily and to keep challenging urself..because the reward - satisfaction..is an utterlessly undescribeable feeling.

So, take care everyone...keep challenging urself..spice up ur life;-)

Okies..duty calls..back to my multitasking projects.

p/s so 21km after this????? Tank, it was nice to run side by side with u again walaupun 1 saat ..hahahah. Thanks TANK my running guru.
