Makan-makan story lagi

I recently had a hari raya makan2 session for my friends (sorry to saper2 yg I x dapat jemput..either I terforgot..or I’ve lost the contact number/email add..hehehe). Anyway, I have to admit that this particular makan2 session was one of the most memorable one and although it was two weeks ago when I held that makan2, I still want to write about it.

Why? Because on that particular day, I got to meet and ‘chia’ my friends that I’ve not been seeing for months or even years and of course friends that I’ve just become acquainted with through the IM projects and not forgetting..my childhood friends too and last but not least..my two beloved mischievous and devilishly handsome God sons..Syami (1 year old) and Amin Rashid (3 months). In all I had my Form 5 ex-classmate friends, UTM friends, my childhood friends and my funkerz friends and my ex-best male friend (since he is married..dia kena jadi my ex best male friend laa..turun pangkat skit yea En. Man…hehehe). Even though some of my friends came from the same source (be it university or others)..they don’t actually know each other or close to each other as they are close to me..in short..I actually sort of the FRIENDSTER for my friends..they got to know each other from me..hehehe. On that day itself..i can say I have at least 5 sets of friends and all of them meant something to me.

Frankly speaking..i was a bit worried to actually combine different sets of friends together under one roof at the same time (cam nak tercabut gak ler kaki coz everyone seems to come almost at the same time). Seram…as I was worried some of them would not feel comfortable. But Alhamdullillah..everything went well. So who actually attended my makan2 and why was the event a memorable one for me?

1. Aley and Bf- Aley was my ex classmate when I was in form 4 and form 5 at Science Muar. Aley and I sat next to each other when we were in form 5. We were sitting at the last row in the class. 3 of us in a row..Aley, I and Daud (currently undetectable). So we had our great moments and memories together. We met each other again only last year.

2. Pawett and gf- Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…Pawett..great buddies when we were in form 5. He has a very rare gift that I’ve ever came across with. He has the ability to draw (which a talent that I’m lacked of) wonderful pictures and things..creative and imaginative yang teramat. I really admire his talent and artwork eversince in form 4. Both of us we in the same English Club (English Society) which he was the President and I was his VC. We had great fun together with our other friends organizing activities for the club. We even introduced the choral speaking to the school. So now Pawett is involved in the architect world. By the way..i’ve just remembered..both of us actually went to the same university..but we hardly bump into each other. The last time before this makan2 was last year during his birthday BBQ..June 15 right??heheh..can still remember his birthday.

3. Fid – my ex-room mate for 2 years in UTM and my ex-coursemate. So, no books in the world can describe the experiences that we have been through together…heheheh…seperti duduk dalam longkang sambil cat pagar..sambil cat pagar sambil cuci mata..hehehe …0131..beruang…sweet pea.. Gladdddddddddddddddddddd to see u again Dearesttt. Thanks..thanksss for coming.

4. Emy – my ex-coursemate..she calls me kakak just because I’m ONE day older than she is. Our birthday falls right one after another. We just love to pick on each other. She would love anything that I like..hehehe.. Currently she’s busy pissing me off by boasting to me how she had a wonderful time with Anuar Zain during her company’s raya gathering (just because I like Anuar Zain too)..Takpa Emy..jaga hang..ada lori ada bas naa..hehehe. Anyway..congratulations for ur sister’s wedding. Hope yours will be next year (wink..wink..;-))

5. Cik Nun-AINUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN bila nak gi tengok Harry Potter niiiii???? She is one of my craziest and dearest friend that I ever had and the most genuine one..you would be crazy if u don’t like her. Oii…letih ler tunggu ur call..when do u want to watch the movie with me and Yayin? Even Sherry now keep asking bout u..CALL ME when u read this blog!

6. Titi & Cen – The last time I met them was monthsssssss ago.Glad that u girls came. Congrats Cen for ur expecting baby- I know u’ll be a wonderful mother. Titi- wanita melayu terakhir after me..heheheh.. Pity Nazrin for not meeting u laa. Thanks for coming dearesttt.

7. Luqman & Wify – Glad to meet u again dear friend. We were in the same residential colleague during my years in UTM. Although we were from different course (he’s a civil engineering student), we became good friends due to our involvement in the colleague’s activities. Plutonic friends is what I describe my friendship with him. We learnt a lot from each other since both of us came from different background. Still remember what Zura said about me turning Man into a a different person..heheheh…satu perkara yg x disengajakan. Put it this way..i thought him what ‘social’ means in his life...heheheh. I’m the devil, his the angel…hehehe. Almost three years we did not meet each other. Been in contact through calls. Finally got to meet his beautiful wife. Best wishes for both of u. Good luck for ur new job in JB – slamat buat jambatan and jalan raya in JB.And thank you Man for telling that I still look the same and I did not change a bit – yerp..this is still the same old wonderful me (cehhh prasan..heheh)..with a few sparks of freckles on my face:-D

8. Ita – Ita comel..thanks for coming. Hope that u’ve enjoyed the laksa. My ex-coursemate in UTM. Been through thick and thin together…glad u came;-) Take good care of urself. Jangan garang sangat…heheheh..

9. Fara & Daytona (JAWI), Syami and Amin Rashid – Fara (Jawi) is one of my good friends from UTM till today. She and her husband which I call Daytona, live in JB with their kids. Both of their sons are my God sons. Why call them the “Jawi” – a long history back to UTM..heheh. Fid knows bout it..right fid? Whenever Fara in KL with her family, we will try our best to meet up. However, this particular makan2 session is exceptionally different from the rest of the meet ups..coz that was the first time I got to meet my second God son Amir Rashid…comeeeeeeeeeellllll. I bought him a t-shirt printed with “I’M a little rascal” - cute kan? Lucky him to get a funky God mother..hehehe. By the way JAWI, does this means I have to get 2 daughters now??

10. Aziy- My newly acquainted funky friend. Thankssssssss forrrrrrrr coooooommmmmmmminnnnnnnngggggggggg…Banyak projectsssss (that cannot be said here) nak buat yek lepas ni..hehehhe..See ya online!!

11. Murni, Lynn and funkerz- Another funkerz that I’ve been newly acquainted with. Wonderful people with wonderful hearts.

12. Riko – my very long lost childhood friend till he doesn’t remember me…hehehe. Met again during the IM project. My partner in crime to execute the IM missions. Learnt quite a number of things from him with or without him realizing it. Thanks for coming. Hoped u enjoyed the foods and the spaghetti Bolognese especially.

13. Amin – my newly acquainted friend and Riko’s partner in crime. Learning the art of lawyar buruks from him and Riko. Thanks for coming. Hoped u enjoyed the meals.

14. Reza & family – another long lost childhood friend till both of us did not remember each other..hehehe. Met again due to the IM project. I really not sure what to do with u yet lah my friend. Let’s go with the flow and we’ll see what happens. Thank u for coming. Appreciate it.

15. Aunt. Farizah & daughters – my ex-neighbour. Both of us love to berborak with each other when I was living in Setiawangsa. Her youngest daughter (8 years old) is and still is my #1 fan…don’t ask me awat dia kenan sangat kat i..i totally have no idea..hehehe..but very sweet of her. Although we did not get to chat long on the makan2 day but Aunty’s attendance really meant something to me. Which reminds me, I owe her a visit ( me and my Cheshire cat smile). Need to add that in my MUST do list.

16. Aunt Bedah & Family- This whole family seemed to be missing my Mom’s cook. They were the first to arrive. Au (my cousin) just arrived from Australia at 5 am on that particular makan2 day. He insisted to go to my house after knowing that we were having some makan2 at our house. Fifi is already 17 years old (gee I do feel old as I used to take care of her when she was 1 year old). Fifi will be going back to school in KL. Thaaaattt remindssssss meeeee..that I owe her a phone call!! Ya Allah..banyak nya aku hutang org calls, teas, lunches, sushi and movies ni..i think by now, I have to make a time table to fit everyone in my life..not forgetting my gym life back…yezzerrr..gym and run training..if bukak buku hutang 555 ni dah masuk 3 buku ni..

Well, I hope I did not miss out anyone else that came on that day. Although not many of them, each and everyone that came that day meant something to me. Perhaps..not all of them know each other and they came from different background but all of them have one thing in common..they have ME as their friend. Each and every one of them has a history/story with me. All of them are interesting. And there are many more of my friends out there that I am still in contact with.

To me is not WHAT u are that makes the person as my friend (what job, car, status), but it is WHO your true self are that makes the person as my friend –sincerity and by being yourself is enough to make me to be your friend.

So lastly, in short, this hari raya makan2 session was a memorable occasion to me. It’s never easy to get a chance to group your friends and meet on the same day under one room. I’ve learnt that it is not how many friends you have or you know that matters, it is actually how well you appreciate and maintain your friendship with your friends- that is something that really matters. Love and appreciate your friends and your loved ones while it lasts.

Take care every one!!

P/s those who did not come or couldn’t make it on that day do not mean they are not my friends..there are and will always do. So, jangan kecik hati aaaa..semua geng aaa.....
